Manchester United team manager Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted his aged central midfielder Paul Scholes is a major player in the success of the team this season.
Ferguson said: ‘He has scored three since he came back into the fold and we have only dropped two points. You see the control of the game he has and the way he controlled the tempo of the game. That has never changed’.
The red devils have consistently created a gap between them and their city rivals Manchester City FC until their Wednesday, April 11 loss to Wigan Athletic, a loss that raises the pressure once again between the two rivals. Man United now have to keep up with their five point lead, but will be needing a definite win against Manchester City when they clash.
United have taken 34 points from a possible 36 since the 37-year old footballer came out of retirement, and with just five games to go, Scholes impact seems obvious.
