Three months after some Chelsea fans were involved in a racist row involving a French citizen of African descent in France, another Chelsea fan has been arrested for ‘common assault.’
The altercation took place on Sunday, May 3, 2015, the day Chelsea won the Premier League title, when four excited fans boarded a train at the Shepherd’s Bush Station, singing about Cesc Fabregas.
Some passengers, including a visually-impaired man and a woman who tried to call them to order were assaulted by the unruly fans. A British Transport Police spokesman confirmed the altercation, and confirmed that a 22-year-old man from Harrow has been arrested.
‘We were called to reports of an altercation on Sunday, 3 May, at Shepherd’s Bush London Underground station.
‘The call came into police shortly before 10.20pm. Officers attended the scene and a 22-year-old man from Harrow was arrested on suspicion of common assault. He has been bailed pending further enquiries until Wednesday 27 May.’
