
Popular Congolese musician Jules Shungu Wembadio Pene Kikumba otherwise called Papa Wemba has been reported dead after he slumped on stage during a performance last night in Ivory Coast.
Late Papa Wemba until his death at the age of 66, was a famous musician, known for pioneering the Congolese rumba (later known as Soukous) genre of music.
His death has made him a trending topic on social media with torrents of condolence messages from celebrities, leaders and his fans.
