The Elephants of Ivory Coast became the first team from group D to qualify to the Quarter final stage of the 2015 African Cup of Nations today.
In the match which came to an end just minutes ago against the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon at the Nuevo Estadio De Malabo, a 35–minute strike from Max Gradel dumped Cameroon out of the tournament as Didier Drogba‘s country topped the group the D with five points.
As things stand, Guinea and Mali who eventually played a 1 – 1 draw in their last group to make it 3 points each, will both be on edge with the drawing of lots billed for tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, 2015 to decide which one of the team will join Ivory Coast in the next stage.
