The Super Eagles of Nigeria are sure glad they won their quarter-final African Cup of Nations match on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
But there’s even more reason to be happy: The players are receiving a lavish gift of $15,000 (N2,359,499.69) each for securing the semi-final ticket after defeating Ivory Coast in the quarterfinal match, punchng.com reports.
This does not include the $100,000 donated to the team by Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and the pledge made by billionaire businessman Aliko Dangote.
The team also received N4.7m after defeating Ethiopia in the group stage.
Nigeria will continue their quest to lift the trophy by playing Mali on Wednesday.
