Hit-maker 9ice shocked fans and followers when he announced, recently, that he plans to release five more albums before year-end.
And, with the release of the collabo singles (‘loni ni’, ‘safarawe’ and ‘atamatase’ ), off his ‘Versus’ album, it’s getting clear that the singer means business.
9ice is trying hard to put his broken marriage behind him; he’s trying to get us talking about his talent again; at a time when all everyone wants to hear-and-say, are the juicy details of his separation from Toni Payne. Fans want to know if he’s dating again; they want to know if there are any chances he’ll reconcile with his wife Toni. They want to know if all the rumours surrounding his failed marriage are true or false. But, as he told us during his shoot last Sunday, all 9ice has on his mind right now is ‘music’.
Last weekend, he was on location, shooting scenes for the first video for the ‘Tradition’ album. The singer and his crew set up in front of the bridge in front of National Stadium, and Teslim Balogun Stadium, in Lagos; before shooting other scenes in front of the Lagos House of Assembly, Alausa Lagos, and in 9ice’s ‘hood’ Bariga.
Some scenes were also shot in his house, around Abule-Egba on the outskirts of Lagos.
The video was directed by Akin Alabi.
”I want to make more music. That’s what brought me here in the first place. We’re shooting so many videos from the Tradition album. I’m also recording other albums as you know. We’re busy, very busy; and I want my fans to support the music and pray for me”, he says as the make up artiste quickly mops his face; getting him ready for another scene.
