Melissa Rivers claims she is only suing the New York City clinic where her 81-year old mother, Joan Rivers died following complications from an endoscopic procedure last September because she fears she might never know what really went wrong otherwise.
She said: ‘We live in this weird time where to find out what really happened, you have to sue, otherwise nobody is going to turn over records. I want to find out what happened. I need to know, I need answers. You have no choice but to sue.’
Melissa is still furious with Joan’s medical team, who she has accused of being incompetent, and wishes the lawsuit was behind her.
She told the ‘Wendy Williams Show’: ‘I’m angry. Parts of me wants answers right now, but there is a process and you have to sort of just grit your teeth and hang on for the process and realise you cannot make it go any faster.’
