American rapper, Silentó has been hit with a travel ban. Best known for his hit, ‘Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae)’ with over a billion views, the 19-year-old rapper is stuck in the United Arab Emirates, due to an apparent contract dispute.
The teen reportedly skipped two shows in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain late last month, despite receiving payment.
‘He didn’t show up,’ a show promoter, Makki Taj, claimed in an interview. ‘I just want to get my own money back. … I don’t want to ruin his reputation.’

A lawyer for Silento asserts that the Atlanta-based recording artist did not ‘cancel any shows.’
Nonetheless, Silento was ordered to surrender his passport, until he pays a promoter 300,000 dirham ($18,500).
The order was issued on February 20, but the story recently came to light after the Associated Press reviewed court documents Thursday (March 2).
In the meantime, Silento seems confident that everything will get worked out.
