2face Idibia‘s father has been in the news for the past few weeks following reports that he is currently battling cancer. But close sources to him say he is not happy that the media is talking about his dad’s illness.
While attending a cancer charity event in Lagos, the singer reportedly revealed that his father had been diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. He also added that since he was diagnosed early and had started the required treatment, ‘it wasn’t really a problem.’
‘He’ll rather keep this one to himself and his family. It’s not about him, it’s his dad and he’s battling an illness‘, a friend of the family told NET.
The singer’s parents were present at his Dubai wedding to wife Annie Macaulay-Idibia in February 2013.

SO why then did he bring it up at a public event?
@Teefah, i think most online media outlets generally miss the point. In my opinion, 2face only tried to encourage and enlighten participants at the cancer event on the importance of early detection of cancer by making reference to his father being diagnosed of cancer early, which in fairness, makes it easier to treat. If you follow the manner the media is carrying the message, you will simply think that something big has suddenly hit 2face’s family, when in actually fact, it is something they have been able to handle due to proper checkup/early
detection. Let them please refocus on the key point that 2face was trying to drive home by his reference , i.e. “Early Detection of Cancer Save life and money”….
