American distance runner Alysia Montano ran 800 metres at the US Track and Field Championships last week while 34 weeks pregnant.
Montano, who came last in the tournament finished in two minutes, 32.13 seconds in the qualifying rounds only seven weeks before she’s due to give birth to her first child.
Speaking on the race Montano said :‘I’ve been running throughout my pregnancy and I felt really, really good during the whole process,‘ ‘I just didn’t want to get lapped and be the first person to get lapped in the 800.
The five-time USA Outdoor champion won it in 2007 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013.
