An early award winner of the night is seasoned Hollywood actor, Samuel L Jackson, who has been recognised with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’.
The American actor and film producer has acted in well over one hundred films, including Thor, Shaft, Snakes on a Plane, Django Unchained, Unthinkable, and Captain America, with a worldwide box office gross of approximately $16 billion to date.
‘It’s an honor to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 BET Awards later this month,’ the actor said in a statement. ‘I’m humbled to be recognized by my peers and to join the company of the exemplary recipients before me.’
