
1. Born Ayotunde Kofoworola Ogunlade in Ilesha, Osun State on December 10, 1957, into a family of music lovers, her 87-year-old mother still sings in the church choir.
2. She spent her childhood in Ibadan and had my primary education there before moving to Lagos in 1972.
3. She was raised in Methodist Church, Agbeni, in Ibadan.
4. She had her secondary school education at Benevolent High School, Martins Street, off Ojuelegba and later rounded off at Victory High School, Ikeja.
5. She took correspondent exams from London Royal School of Music and got a Diploma in Music.
6. She started as a Gospel musician and later switched to Juju music when she realized that she could be an entertainer and make people dance and also gain a larger audience.
7. Asides music, she runs ‘Room Affairs,’ a company that deals in fashionable bedding sets.
8. She’s been married for 36 years and claims her husband has been supportive of her career.
9. She’s a chorister at C&S Ayo Ni O Parish.
10. Her 30-man band is named Ayo Balogun and Harmonic Voices.
11. She is the first woman to become the president of Association of Juju Musicians of Nigeria(AJUMN).
