FIFA has conducted a drug text for seven Costa Rica players after their shock victories against Uruguay and Italy.
In a statement posted by Football Italia, FIFA said two Costa Rican players were ordered to undergo normal post-match tests, while five others had not done pre-competition testing.
Navas, Celso Borges, Joel Campbell, Yeltsin Tejeda, Christian Bolanos, Michael Barrantes and the Ticos’s captain Bryan Ruiz were among the players who took and passed the test.
Costa Rica goalkeeper, Keylor Antonio Navas, who also took part in the doping test said : ‘People still don’t believe that Costa Rica could beat Uruguay and Italy. We believed it from the outset, but thank God we’re all relaxed, with a clear conscience. If they want to test the whole team, that’s no problem’
The Costa Ricans, who are through to the round of sixteen after two victories, will face England in their last group stage match.
