Netflix, on Monday, August 16, 2021, released the trailer of Kemi Adetiba’s star-studded political crime drama – ‘King of Boys II’, a sequel to the 2018 King of Boys, which broke Box Office earnings record.
The much-anticipated film, which is in seven parts, is Netflix’s first original series from Nigeria.
Shootouts, Eniola Salami (Sola Sobowale’s) fierce political battle and rage dominate the 104 seconds suspenseful trailer which gives fans a peek into the new series to be released on August 27, 2021. And fans have 11 more days to wait.
‘King of Boys I’ was one of Nigeria’s highest-grossing films. In December 2018, Kemi Adetiba announced that it had grossed N200 million earnings in its seventh week. According to a report by Film House, King of Boys is one of the Nollywood titles that grossed over N100 million in box office earnings.
The film won the 2019 Africa Movie Academy Award (AMAA) for Best Nigerian Film. The lead actor, Sola Sobowale, also won the AMAA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role.
