This year’s search for the ultimate mum has begun as the TV reality show ‘Supermom’ kicks off. Just in its second season, the show which was set up to celebrate Nigerian mothers plans to give away mouth-watering prizes.
The pan-Nigerian show intends to cover more settlements than they did in the first season as producers say they plan to get the Supermom message to every city as possible. Already, an awareness team has been to Abeokuta, Ibadan, Oyo town, Oshogbo, Offa, Ilorin and some other South west states. There’s good news for mothers in the Northern part of the country as organizers hope to meet many of the ardent viewers of the show located in these parts of the country.
The first season of the show saw Madam Nkechi Rapu from Asaba, Delta State emerge as winner clinching the top prize of a brand new three bedroom flat in a choice area of Lagos and a year-long supply of Indomie Noodles, Always, Vicks and Ariel, Cowbell and Onga.
So how does one fill in for the show?
A potential contestant is expected to send a short, compelling story about their mother to a dedicated number or log on to the show’s website to do same, after which the best 20 entries will be selected by a special team. Subsequently, the senders will be invited to the studio for special interviews whereby they will tell their stories all over again.
‘The winning mom will then be celebrated at the grand winners’ party with a red carpet event where family, friends, celebrities will party with her. She would go home with a brand new car, a complete set of home appliances and N1million cash’, executive producer of the Supermom, Sola Fajobi discloses.
Supermom will run on popular TV stations for 13 weeks.
