Rita Ora will perform at the Oscars.
The 24-year old singer is very ‘excited’ to have been asked to sing ‘Grateful’ from ‘Beyond the Lights’ – one of the five nominees for Best Original Song – at the prestigious Academy Awards ceremony on February 22.
She tweeted: ‘I’m excited to announce @TheAcademy invited me to perform on the #Oscars on Feb 22nd! (sic)’
Show producers say the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ star’s appearance will add ‘glamour’ to proceedings.
The producers, Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, said in a statement:
‘International recording artist, Rita Ora, will make her Oscar stage debut this year. The mixture of her incredible voice and glamour makes a perfect combination for our show.’
Rita joins previously-announced performers, John Legend and Common, who will take to the stage to sing their Golden Globe-winning track, ‘Glory’ from ‘Selma’ and Adam Levine, who will perform his ‘Begin Again’ single ‘Lost Stars’.
