Over the past year, Lil Wayne‘s public feud with Birdman and Cash Money Records has dramatically impacted his career and ability to put out music.
The issues originally stem from Wayne’s frustrations over money reportedly owed to him and the label not releasing his long-awaited album, Carter V.
Since then however, Wayne has only become more vocal about his displeasure with the label and has yelled ‘Fuck Cash Money’ at a number of concerts recently.

Lil Wayne has let his frustration out on social media, telling fans that he’s now ‘defenseless’, ‘mentally defeated’ and wants to leave rap gracefully.

Later on, Wayne sought to calm the nerves of his more devoted fans who had been left panicking at the prospect of his retirement all day long.
I'm good y'all don't trip

And a suggestion was made, for Rick Ross to buy out Wayne’s contract from Birdman.
Hip Hop needs someone to step in and save Lil Wayne from Birdman like Master P did when he saved Snoop Dogg from Suge Knight

But Young Money President Mack Maine has no intention of letting Weezy walk without a fight.
