Wait, before the custodians of Nollywood law and order come at me for saying the industry is on drugs again, let me present my case.
You see the picture above? It was taken on the set of a film being directed by Ernest Obi. This, in drug currency, is cannabis level.

Now, wait for it. The film is to be titled – Delta Blood With An Artificial Penis. This is meth level, ‘drugically’ speaking.
During the week, we learnt that Igbinedion University, Okada, collaboed with oga filmmaker Lancelot Odua Imasuen to establish what will be known as the Benin Film Academy. Whether I think this is good or bad news, I still cannot decide.

In fact, I don’t know what to think. Is this another white elephant project like all the other feyingbole film academies scattered around the country who only seem to use their students as extras in their projects?
Or will it be something to productive, the kind we last had with Nigerian Film Institute – a government-owned film school – before its ‘demise’.
Last week, we also learnt that US-based Nigerian filmmaker, Odera Ozoka, is planning to assemble a Pan-African cast to tell a Nigerian story or a Biafran story, if that’s how you prefer to call it.
Senegalese actress Aïssa Maïga is one of those being readied for roles in the film.

When will we ever learn?
