- Adum Oboni Honey
He writes his own songs, strums the guitar and croons like no other. With a voice as sweet as his name and a charming attitude, Honey won the hearts of the judges when he sang his personally penned songs ‘I Dey’ and ‘I love you’ at his audition in Abuja which earned him a golden ticket right away.
Honey, despite his talents and efforts to remain in the house and probably be the winner of the second season of Nigeria Idol got an unfortunate eviction, after bagging the lowest votes for the just concluded week.
There are now only four contestants left: Mercy, Stephen, Joe blue and Najite. Joe Blue appears the favourite of many to win the big prize.
A day after Honey’s eviction, the remaining four contestants were put to test, singing any two tracks from any musician of their choice.
Amidst the tension it was a fun environment with hundreds of music fans and families of the remaining four contestants present for the live show.
As usual, judges Yinka Davies, Jeffrey Daniel and the ever eccentric Charly Boy were full of life as they critiqued and praised the final four. They were joined by Timi Dakolo (winner West Africa Idol, 2007), guest judge for the evening.
Dakolo opened the show with a stunning rendition of his ‘Great nation’ song, a performance that earned audience ovation.
