Manchester United winger, Angel di Maria has been voted Argentina’s best foreign-based player for the year by the country’s sport journalists.
The former Real Madrid star, who played an essential part in helping the Spanish team win the 10th European title (La Decima) and was a shining light for the South American nation at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, scooped the Olimpia de Plata (Silver limpia award) ahead of Barcelona forward, Lionel Messi on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at a gala ceremony.
It was the first time Messi has failed to win the award since 2006.
