Since she was a child, 17-year-old Onyinye Igboanugo has always wanted to be a musician. Although she has been playing the clarinet for many years now, she first learned to use the instrument under the tutelage of Jonathan Anuforo at her home church, Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Ipaja, Lagos.
Onyinye gained the MTN Foundation scholarship to study at the MUSON School of Music in 2018 and since then, her growth and music skill have greatly accelerated.
After two years of hard work and study, Onyinye Igboanugo and her 29 classmates (who are also beneficiaries of the MTN Foundation scholarship) are receiving a diploma from the MUSON School of Music as its graduating class of 2020.
We look forward to seeing what these young talents will create even as they celebrate this milestone.
The 2020 graduating set recently capped their graduation ceremonies with a soul-stirring concert live from Shell Hall, Lagos.
