Upcoming rock band Threadstone say they expect great mainstream acceptance and record sales because of Chocolate City rap act M.I‘s involvement in their career.
The group, which started out in Jos, have been in the music industry for five years.
They say they decided to join M.I’s new label Loopy Music to help ‘get a wider platform.’
Speaking with NET recently, the group said their long-time friendship with the award winning rapper prompted the decision to sign with him; ‘Getting on M.I’s label wasn’t hard because of our relationship with him. He (M.I) called us that he really wants us on his label and we started from there, and here we are‘
On their choice of music: ‘Basically everyone is doing R&B, hip-hop and other genre of music. We just wanted to introduce a new element in to the music industry in Nigeria. We want to stand out and be known as the creative artistes that we believe we are‘.
