According to reports, the 34-year old former Lillestrom of Norway midfielder had complained of a mild fever few days to his friends and family before his sudden death.
Speaking with Super Sport, his former teammate, Emmanuel Issah confirmed the demise of the football star, saying: ‘Yes, it is true Romanus Orjinta is dead, he died into the New Year and it’s a huge blow for me personally, He was s true professional, he will be sorely missed, it’s really a sad way to start the year. May his soul rest in peace’
Romanus Orjinta started his football career at Enugu Rangers in 2000, before moving to Julius Berger F.C 2001, Enyimba International F.C. in 2003 and Lillestrøm SK in 2004. He came back to the local league in 2005 by joining Heartland F.C. and then Niger Tornadoes F.C. in 2008.
