Less than a week after the death of former Super Eagles player, Rashidi Yekini, more accolades and donations continue to trail the death of the soccer hero. The most recent is Oyo state government’s establishment of a N5 million endownment fund for the children of the late star player.
According to the Sports Commissioner of the state, Dapo Lam Adeshina, the endowment fund which will be strictly for the children of the late player, would be managed in conjunction with the family of the deceased.
Prior to this, Kwara State commissioner for Sports, Kayode Towoju had given out the sum of N1.5 million to the family of the deceased on the day of his burial. Lam Adeshina had also donated N1million on behalf of the Oyo State government during the burial. Osun and Oyo states also made similar donations.

It is a necessary offer making a donation to the deceasedchildren&family.
He really deserves it and even more
This is just pure nonsense, the donations are goood tho. Buh wuld av been better when he was alive. If he got all this when he was living, he just might av not passed away this early, buh this country we recognise our heros when they gone. So sad
Rahidi yekini must b immortalised not only to give his family and children money.
Rashidi died strugglin wif mental ilnes, u knw dis donations might av helpd him conquer d ilnes but he wasn’t rmembrd until he pasd away, his heroic deeds were only rekindled by his death. Shame on FG!

Nigeria should cultivate d habit of appreciatx d effort of their heroes during their lifetime rather dan splashing their family wt unnecessary huge amt of money . Atlast his effort futile.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. He did his best nd deserves to be honoured.
