Reigning Miss World, Rolene Strauss of South Africa has cancelled her visit to Kenya due to the massive killings of over 147 students of Garissa University College by Somalia al Shabaab militants on Thursday, April 2, 2015.
The beauty queen was scheduled to visit the country today, Friday, April 10, 2015 but had no choice but to postpone her visit following the agreement between the organisers and the British travel advisory.
In a recent statement released regarding the trip, organisers have confirmed Miss World wouldn’t be coming to Kenya.
‘The Miss World Kenya office regrets to inform you that the dinner in honour of Miss World, which was to be held on April 10, 2015 has been postponed due to the British travel advisory, which has been escalated by the Garissa terror attack.
‘We will advise you as soon as we have the new date,’ the statement says.
Rolene Strauss was crowned Miss World on Sunday, December 14, 2014.
