Popular comedian and MC Teju Babyface and Lagos-based model Tobi Banjoko are engaged.
The couple began dating a few months ago, but have known each other a very long time, according to sources close to the couple.
Tobi was also present at Teju’s late father’s wake keep in Lagos and burial in Oyo State and was reportedly quite active in the burial activities.
‘Yes it’s true. I feel excited’, Banjoko, who was the winner of the Lagos Carnival beauty pageant in 2010, told NET. ‘He likes what I do, I like what he does, and we understand ourselves perfectly’.
Tobi, an undergraduate at Lagos State University, also represented Ondo State at the 2011 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBGN) beauty pageant, where she emerged as Miss Photogenic.
NET has gathered that Teju popped the big question a few weeks ago, on Valentine’s Day, just a few hours before 2face Idibia proposed to his long time love Annie Macauley.
A source close to the couple tells us Teju called Tobi on Valentine’s Day to meet him at the Southern Sun hotel, Ikoyi Lagos. As Tobi made her way into one of the rooms, she was surprised to see that Teju had decorated it with red roses; he then popped the big question, and of course she said yes.
We called up Teju who was quite reluctant to divulge any information. He only said ‘God dey, patience is a virtue’.
No wedding dates have been fixed yet, but the Introduction will be held in a few months, and we’re told the couple will make Teju’s 1004 Apartment their home after they get married.
