With over 19 years in the digital and entertainment business, Oye Akideinde has made himself a well of information and knowledge about running a successful creative consumer entertainment enterprise.
After graduating with a degree in Computer Science from the University of Lagos, he went on to get an MSc in Business Information Systems from the University of Hertfordshire, UK. His career transverses the consumer goods sector, IT, project management, marketing and media, and digital sectors.
Akideinde is also a co-founder of 360nobs Limited, a technology-driven marketing & entertainment services firm which owns one of Africa’s biggest entertainment & lifestyle websites and was also the hotbed for Nigerians to listen and stream music.
In 2017, he became the Regional Director, West Africa for Boomplay and in that same year, the app won the coveted ‘Best African App’ Award at the AppsAfrica Innovation Awards in 2017. He obtained a General Music Studies Specialist certificate from Berklee College of Music.
No one can deny his dedication to the business of music as over the years he has worked to raise the standards of the music ecosystem in Nigeria. Oye is a member of The Headies Academy. In 2019, He was appointed the CEO for Music Time, Simfy Africa – a company MTN acquired.
He is a recipient of several awards including MeetsMedia ‘Media Personality of September 2016’, he was listed as 2016’s Avance Media’s ‘100 Most Influential Young Nigerians’ and Marketing Edge’s 2018 ‘Digital Entertainment Innovator’.
With this wealth of industry experience, Oye Akideinde will be speaking at MTN’s Business of the Art Series on Friday, August 28, 2020. He will join Bada Akintunde-Johnson (Country Manager, ViacomCBS) and Ayeni Adekunle (CEO, Black House Media) to discuss how the business of music works in Nigeria.
