Veteran Nollywood actress Ngozi Nwosu has made an emotional appeal to Nigerians, fans, colleagues and well-wishers for financial support as she battles a serious health condition that requires three urgent life-saving surgeries.
The beloved actress, who has been hospitalised for the past three weeks, revealed in a tearful video shared on her Instagram page that the cost of her treatment has gone beyond what she can afford. According to Nwosu, she needs ₦30 million to undergo the surgeries.
Fighting back tears, the actress pleaded with supporters not to abandon her during one of the most difficult periods of her life.
“My people, my fans and my family, I know that you’ve not seen me in circulation for some time. I’ve been hospitalised now for three weeks. Please, the thing has gone beyond my control. I need your help. Don’t let me die. I know that you people never forsake me, and I know that God will always see me through. But I’m begging you, my fans and family, don’t let me die because I am going through a lot of pain,” she said.
In the caption accompanying the video, Nwosu admitted that publicly asking for help was not an easy decision but said the urgency of her medical condition left her with no choice.
“My fans, friends, family and colleagues, this was really hard for me to do, but I can’t keep quiet anymore. I need urgent life-saving surgeries. Please don’t scroll past. Share this post and support if you can.”
She disclosed that the total amount needed for all three surgeries is ₦30 million and urged anyone willing to assist to contact her legal representative or management for details.
Ngozi Nwosu is regarded as one of Nollywood’s most accomplished actresses, with a career spanning more than three decades. She rose to prominence through her memorable role as Madam V Boot in the classic television series Ripples before becoming a household name in the popular sitcom Fuji House of Commotion. Over the years, she has featured in several notable productions, including Domitila, Circle of Doom, Fake Doctor, A Cry for Help, Tanbolo, Silent Baron, Ije Awele, Skinny Girl in Transit, and The Smart Money Woman, earning widespread admiration for her versatility and comic timing.
