Chelsea and former Ivory Coast striker, Didier Drogba has been recognised for his contributions to football by the Football Writers’ Association.
The former Galatasaray star received the honour at a Football Writers’ Association gala at Savoy Hotel, London on Sunday, January 25, 2015.
Speaking after receiving the prestigious award he said: ‘When you have achieved so much and won so many trophies like we have done in the past 10 years, that creates something special.
‘I hope, and the club makes me believe, I am part of this big family, so we are going to find the best thing for both of us to promote the club in the best way.’
Didier Drogba is regarded as one of Chelsea’s iconic players of all time.
