Chelsea legend and former Ivory Coast captain, Didier Drogba has been awarded the ‘Barclays Spirit of the Game’ trophy.
The former Galatasaray striker was honoured with the accolade on Thursday, April 30, 2015 for inspiring the next generation of footballers in Africa through his charity platform, Didier Drogba Foundation in Africa.
Speaking on why he decided to establish the charity foundation, Drogba said: ‘There is nothing better than when you see a kid with a smile on his face and that is why I’m trying to help. I want to do a lot of things in Africa, I want to give people the chance to dream, and it is easier to dream when you are in good health and happy.’
The Didier Drogba Foundation was set up in 2007 and is also aimed at giving financial and material support in health and education to those in need in Africa.

Thank you for sharing. I’m fascinated with your
website. I will publish this to my facebook wall.
Can I simply just say what a relief to find a person that genuinely
understands what they’re talking about on the web. You certainly realize how
to bring an issue to light and make it important.
A lot more people need to check this out and understand
this side of the story. I can’t believe you’re not more popular because you certainly possess the
gift.
