Officials from Reverend Chris Okotie’s church, Household of God have reportedly released a press statement concerning the recent shocking announcement of his separation from his wife of four years Stephanie.
Okotie had made the announcement during last Sunday service on June 24, 2012, citing ‘irreconcilable differences’.
In the statement which was released by spokesperson for the church Ladi Ayodeji, Okotie thanks friends for their concern but clearly states no further details would be given.
‘The Pastor of our Church, the Household of God, Oregun, Lagos, Rev Chris Okotie announced his separation from Stephanie his wife of four years, at the end last Sunday service.
Both parties arrived at this decision after careful review of the prevailing circumstances which pointed to the fact that it is the best option for them at this time. They also agreed not to divulge details of this incident for personal reasons.
Rev Okotie thanks concerned friends and well-wishers and asked for understanding. He also expressed the hope that their decision would be respected as no further details would be given on this issue’.

I am shocked at all of your comments. Its the same bible that teaches us not to judge one another regardless. And yet we are all here judging the man. Yes God hates divorce and He goes against it, but who are we to judge him if we don’t know what really conspired between him and his wife. Its a shame to divorce his wife was an option but again no body knows the true story so let God handle him and let us focus on our own personal salvation instead of judging.

This is not the time to “kick a fallen soldier.” This affect us all. I am sure pastor Chris knows He is wrong and God will deal with Him accordingly, but what about you and me…is there no sin in our lives for which God frowns..this is just a reminder to us to return to Holiness and God’s standard. Also to pray for pastor Chris and his wife. The big picture is that the name of Christ is being dragged in the mud again..lets humble ourselves in repentance and pray for God to send revival to the Church in Nigeria. Issues like this are just a tip of the iceberg of what is really going on among God’s people. Pray, Pray, Pray. Lord forgive us for bringing shame and disgrace to your name. Well,I have read a lot of stuff and frankly my mind is full.The only thing is that we should pray for our spiritual leaders who fall and use this to check ourselves.Christianity is an individual race.

I think Pastor Chris is in the wrong denomination. He should become a catholic priest and there would be wives and then no issues of divorcing or not. If he hates the catholic then he shoul go CELIBATE
