According to reports coming in from several news sources, YouTube streams would soon be factored into the Billboard Album Charts.
The innovative ways in which listens source and play music is forcing the industry to find new ways of ranking it. Only this week, Kanye West’s 2016 album The Life of Pablo was announced by the British Phonographic Industry as the first streaming only album to achieve gold status.
Although Billboard has not made any official statement to this effect, it is not beyond the realm of imagination that it could be the way forward.
