The Beat, London has been nominated amongst six other radio stations for the award category, radio of the year at Urban Music Awards, London. This comes in its first year of existence.
Nominations for the 14th annual Urban Music Awards were announced recently by the UMA Academy and it reflects one of the most diverse and exciting years for British and International music talent.

The Beat, London which opened for business earlier this year, is aimed at projecting African music, Nigerian Music, British music and Caribbean Music. The station is centered on the entertainment industry and its goal is to satisfy listeners’ through quality programming.

Also nominated in this category are BBC 1Xtra, Capital XTRA, and three other London based stations.
Speaking on the nomination, General Manager, Megalectrics, Deji Awokoya says, ‘We’re really ecstatic about this award because it comes in our first year and it shows that there’s something we’re doing right. It further strengthens our goal of globalizing entertainment content around the world.’
