Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has undergone surgery after being diagnosed with appendicitis.
According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, the former Roma coach was rushed to the emergency room in serious discomfort on Monday, June 9, 2014 before undergoing tests to diagnose the problem.
A statement on the club’s official website read: ‘The operation was successful and he is expected to be discharged in the next few days’
44 year old Luis, who played for Barca between 1996 and 2004, was appointed as the club’s first team manager, sealing a two-year deal on Monday, May 19, 2014.
