The late actor was post-humously honoured for his role in the blockbuster, ‘The Assassin’s Practice’, a movie which tells the story of a failed stock investor, Eviano Esiri (Justus Esiri), who hires an assassin (Eve Pearson) to stage his suicide and make it look like a botched robbery so his wife (Kate Henshaw) and daughter (Sarah Akokhia) would live off his life insurance, only to discover that the assassin is a delusional psychopath who will not spare anyone and he must do everything to reverse the tide of events.
It was among three Nigerian films selected for screening at the just concluded prestigious Film Africa film festival held in London.
The world premiere of the film took place in London in 2012 and was exceptionally received by the audience and critics.
Directed by Andrew Ukoko and produced by Andrew Ukoko and Dele Ajakaiye, the movie is a production of Trinity Filmworks, a UK based film production company.
Justus Esiri passed on on Tuesday, March 18, 2013 and was buried on Friday, April 12, 2013 in his home town, Oria Abraka, Delta State.
