German club side, Schalke 04 has announced the suspension of three of their first team players after a shock defeat by Cologne in the Bundesliga on Sunday, May 10, 2015. The players are Ghana star, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Sidney Sam of Nigerian parentage and Marco Hoger. The players were suspended due to what the club described as ‘unsure loyalty’.
The German Royal Blues were beaten 2-0 at the RheinEnergieStadion to leave their hope of qualifying for Europa League hanging. Speaking during a crisis meeting, the general manager of Schalke 04, Horst Heldt said: ‘We are unsure of Marco Hoger’s loyalty; some players are, regardless of contractual arrangements, going to feel the consequences.
‘If a player is not willing to do what we ask, then he will not be at the next training session’, which was what led to the suspension of the players that have failed to deliver to the club’s satisfaction.
According to reports, the football stars will stay away from all first-team activities, including training and matches.
