Falz is such a conscious rapper but in a country where even when you state things literally, many miss it, it is so hard for many to see through the jest and the wit, to see the consciousness within the character. Up there even on the layers of #ThisIsNigeria without digging in.

I’m pleased that we still have artists like @falzthebahdguy and @2faceofficial_ talking about governance issues. Since the death of Fela, not many musicians have used their voices for the public cause. @falzthebahdguy’s #ThisIsNigeria is brilliant!

Falz doesn’t get the respect that’s due him as a rapper. He’s arguably one of the most insightful, most thoughtful rappers out Nigeria in a while. #thisisnigeria is brilliant and is what rap should be, reflect the culture. Respect!✊

#ThisIsNigeria will be referenced when the story of these days are told. Couldn’t have had a better summary of contemporary Nigeria in a video just as short and shot! https://t.co/ugWpmDceea

Falz showed why in as much as he’s a comedian/entertainer/rapper/multitalented he is still one of the few rappers in Nigeria, if not the only one if you really think about it, who is spitting the truth and bridging the facts with his lyrics.
Super intelligent. #ThisIsNigeria

Falz further proved that music can be used for more than making people dance. He addressed corruption, police brutality, fraud, insecurity (Fulani Herdsmen), sexual abuse, extra judicial killings, exploitation of church members on #ThisIsNigeria. This is a praiseworthy concept.

I haven’t praised a Nigerian rapper for a minute but I must say Falz’ #ThisIsNigeria is a solid, solid story. And a great production too.

The facts and reality that Falz touched on in that song hit the bone marrow and underlying tissue. The truth will set you free but first it will piss you off. #ThisIsNigeria

Falz touched every angles in #ThisIsNigeria . This is the type of lyrical contents we need, not songs encouraging drugs, immoral and illicit behavior. I’m really impressed.
