Levi Ajuonoma, a multi-talented broadcaster, who ran multiple shows on radio and TV in the 90s, before taking up an appointment as spokesperson for the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, was on the ill-fated Dana aircraft that crashed few hours ago.
Ajuonoma hosted ‘Open House Party’, an independent variety entertainment show on Ray Power every saturday for many years; usually hosting comedians and music acts. He was also, at different times, the host and executive producer of ‘The Sunday Show’, ‘Levi Ajuonoma live’ and ‘Showtime’ on NTA and other channels.
Ajuonoma started his career in 1977 as an announcer with Imo Broadcasting Service (IBS) in Owerri, Imo State. He left IBS in 1979 for Huntington College, Indiana, USA, where he bagged a Bachelor of Arts in Communications.
He later got a Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota in 1983 and 1987 respectively. He got an MBA from Plymouth State College of the University System of New Hampshire two years later.
Before returning home to practice, he worked briefly as Assistant Professor at the Department of Journalism, Keene State College of the University System of the State of New Hampshire.
Apart from Ajuonoma, others that lost their lives in the tragic DANA air crash include Eyo Bassey and Femi Shobowale, both of events agency Towncriers.
And there are many more, as you’ll find in the full manifest. May their souls rest in peace.

I wont agree that God has written down that people would die this way. This is totally man’s inhumanity. On the road they manage spoilt cars, on the air they manage airplanes. This is an unreasinable and Wicked act. May God Almighty be with their families. This is so sad.
May their souls rest in perfect peace….. Amen
I will really miss Mr. Levi. I ‘ve been following him since the early 90s when was hosting ‘sunday show’ in NTA. I also enjoyed him in Ray Power. Oh Lord, we don’t want this time of death anymore.
We need God’s intervention in our country Nigria.May d soul of d departed rest in peace.

God is no more happy with dis nation. Why? Because wickedness, lies, theft, corruption, fraud, idolatry, disobedience, murder and killing of d innocent, greed, etc to mention but a few has provoked him to anger. Imagine! 156 lives gone in such a mysterious way. And come to think of it, it is an occurence that could have been averted if not 4 d greed of the management. All i ask 4rm God is dat he Console d family of d deceased. It is a most unfortunate incident.

May the Almighty God have mercy on our beloved country Nigeria and hear the cries of His Children in Jesus Christ name
This is very sad indeed. Well we do nothing than continue to ask God to have mercy on our Nation Nigeria. Let the system begin to work effectively & safely. We just must transform to a developed status, we are currently too primitive & that is costing us so much pains, both the poor & rich. Nobody is save. We must seek God together.
