Black Eyed Peas front man, will.i.am, has confirmed that lead vocalist and only female in the group, Fergie, has left to pursue a solo career.
In a recent interview, will.i.am stated that she has been wanting to focus on her solo career for some time now.
He added however that there’s is no bad blood between them.
‘Fergie is family and will always be a Pea,’ Will said, adding, ‘She is focused on her solo album, which we fully support.’
With her exit, rumours are up in the air on who would replace her.
Former Pussycat Dolls lead singer, Nicole Scherzinger, was linked with the group earlier this year.
Scherzinger however denied those rumours in May, saying, ‘It’s just a rumour. I’ve known the Black Eyed Peas for a long time. I’ve actually known Will[.i.am] for a really long time — he’s like a brother of mine. All the boys are like brother to me.’
