Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo has signed the 2017 national budget into law.
Osinbajo signed the document in Aso Rock Villa on Monday.
Hours before the historic development, media aide to Senate President Bukola Saraki, Bamikole Omisore, tweeted Osinbajo would sign the budget around 3pm today.

The development comes on a day many Nigerians mark the legacy of Moshood Abiola who was stripped of his mandate after winning the June 12 presidential election.
The Acting President signed the budget with President Muhammadu Buhari nowhere near the seat of power. The President is receiving medical treatment in London.
I just signed 2017 Budget into law. It’s an important milestone in our economic recovery & growth plan laid in April by President Buhari.

There had been suspicions Buhari’s ‘men’ would not allow Osinbajo sign the document. The N7 trillion budget, observes say, could have been signed into law earlier had Buhari been hale and hearty.
Nigerians had to wait half way into 2017 for the budget to be signed.
