Widely touted as Africa’s biggest act in 2016, Wizkid has added to his long list of accolades by snagging a nomination in the ‘Best African Act’ category at the 2016 Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards.
Other Nigerian stars like Olamide, Tiwa Savage, Yemi Alade and Tekno, who have all had a big year on the African music scene, are also in contention for the coveted award, while Davido misses out on yet another major award nominations list.

Davido is yet to release a solo song in 2016 as he waits for Sony Music authorisation and pundits believe it is the major reason for his continuous absence at the awards this year.
Also nominated for the Best African Act award are Mr Eazi, Moelogo, Mista Silva, Eugy, and Kwamz & Flava.
This number of nominees in this category will be reduced to five final nominees on October 17.
