From Wizkid, to Davido, Falz, Adekunle Gold and Omawumi, the crowd was estatic to see Nigeria's biggest stars share the stage on the same night.
The 12th annual Rhythm Unplugged lit up the Eko Convention Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos on December 23, 2016 and there were so many memorable moments.
Here are some of the highlights of the night in no particular order.
Bovi stepped on stage around 10 p.m. to kick things off after which Moelogo, Koker, and Seyi Shay took turns on stage as the first set of performers.
Falz proved he’s the BAHD guy with a great show, less than 24 hours after co-hosting the 2016 Headies awards with actress, Adesua Etomi.
Waje played her part with her renditions of ‘Omini Knowest’ and ‘I Wish’ on stage.
But her good friend Omawumi’s session was overwhelming, with the live performance of ‘Megbele’, and operatic rendition of ‘If You Ask Me’.
DMW act, Mayorkun also made his mother proud for singing ‘Eleko’.
The duo had just returned from Abidjan, Ivory Coast and they didn’t fail to delight bellovers at the show.
DJ Obi’s session on the wheels of steel got everyone dancing to justify his Guinness World Record.
DJ Cuppy didn’t get as much applause as Obi, but her playlist was amazing regardless. Her delighted billionaire father was also in attendance.
DJ Xclusive had the fortune of introducing Wizkid on stage with their collaboration, ‘Jeje’, at exactly 4:23 a.m.
Wizkid defied doctors orders to deliver a superlative performance at Rhythm Unplugged 2016.
‘Doctor say make Wizkid no do show in December,’ said Wizzy as he told DJ Xclusive to stop the music in order for him to speak about his health, before performing his global anthem ‘Ojuelegba’.
By the crowd’s wild reaction and enthusiastic singing along, it was apparent that he still has the golden touch with his fans.
Olamide’s performance was effortless – practically everyone in the overflowing arena danced and sang along with Baddo Sneh as he performed his hit songs back to back.
Davido on his part continued his December reign at the 2016 Rhythm Unplugged concert. He stepped on stage at exactly 4:44 a.m. with hypeman, Special ED and they both performed ‘Dami Duro’, ‘Gobe’, ‘Dodo’, ‘Osinachi’.
Omo Baba Olowo surprised his fans during the performance of ‘Bahd Baddo Baddest’ as he wasn’t able to rhyme ‘Dele na my boy’ boldly, in the presence of the latter, Dele Momodu.
P-Square spent 20 minutes on stage but it seemed too short.
The twins took their fans down memory lane with a number of their hits, and also assured Nigerians they’re back together for real, in the presence of the older brother, Jude Okoye.
Tekno was the last artiste to perform at the concert, which is one of the biggest shows in Nigeria this year.
And the singer didn’t shy away from controversy by publicly taking shots at the organisers of Headies Awards.
‘Dem nominate me for award say dem disqualify me, you be God?’ the singer said in pidgin English before his performance at the 2016 Rhythm Unplugged.
It was indeed a night to remember.
