Zara Gretti died on March 28, 2014 after battling Multiple Screlosis for close to two years.
A few days after passing away, creative consultant Yemisi Ilo wrote NET a note, blaming Zara’s family for her death. Ilo told of how the late singer disclosed to her that her family had been giving her herbs (populary called ‘Agbo’) to drink in a bid to help cure her.
Zara’s family has however denied Ilo’s claims, insisting that despite their help and good intentions, Zara decided to take matters into her hands.
‘She travelled to Ghana with her friend to meet a Catholic Priest who was giving her herbs to drink. We provided Zara with physiotherapists, she stubbornly refused. It was tough for all of us’, a family member disclosed to NET.
‘We feel really bad someone would just level an allegation like that against the people that cared for her while her so called friends deserted her. We loved Zara and still love her’.
