The Russia 2018 world cup may be done and dusted but surely, we will not hear the last of it any time soon. France defeated a highly ambitious Croatian side to claim their second world cup title in their history.
All we saw on the July 15 match day was a well-coordinated French team which dominated the game from almost starting to finish, taking nothing away from the Croatians who fought hard to curtail the onslaught from the Les Blues.
Maybe the new video which just surfaced and believed to have been recorded before the epic final game could give answers as to why the French players played their hearts out during the game as they ensured they wrote their names in the history books as one-time world cup winners.
In the video currently trending online, Manchester United Midfielder Paul Pogba is seen giving a pep talk to his teammates minutes before the game at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, encouraging them to stay concentrated as they were about to play the most important game of their lives.
Pogba spoke in French language and when translated is believed to have said: I don’t want to talk too much, you know why we are here, We know it’s in our hearts, in our eyes, I can see it, boys.
The French star was solid for his country throughout the tournament, scoring his only goal of the tournament in the 59th minute of the match and providing a couple of assists for other of his teammates throughout the tournament.
