This year has started on a great note for actress Viola Davis as she collected the first Hollywood Walk of Fame Star of 2017.
But the actress says all she could think of was her dad who died in 2006 wishing that ‘he was here’ as he would have thought this is ‘pretty amazing.’
The award brought to mind her days of growing up where she grew up in poverty. She said ‘every time I look at the little girl, I always thought, ‘Oh, that’s a cute outfit but she was always hungry, she was always shy, she was always kind of in the background, but inside she had big dreams bursting.’
She added that she just knows that ‘What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls the butterfly.’
She concluded by saying she couldn’t believe her life right now. She said it was like her life was flashing before her eyes and all she can say is that God has blessed her life in abundance.
She is a 51 year old mother of one and is married to producer, Julius Tennon.
