Respected cinematographer, Tunde Kelani is set to launch an online TV platform on Friday, August 7, 2015.
The channel, to be known as www.tundekelani.tv, will propagate the works of the veteran filmmaker which include old movies and recent projects.
In a press release, Tunde Kelani disclosed that the internet-based TV channel was inspired by the need to respond to the demands of teeming fans who are unable to get their hands on the physical copies of his works due to the activities of prowling pirates.
‘It is an attempt to respond to the yearnings of our teeming fans of rich African themed contents on the go. Distributing films or other contents physically are becoming increasingly difficult, revenues are lost on a daily basis and content owners are at the mercy of the menacing activities of pirates. I think it is just natural, expedient and sensible to take contents closer to the consumers on demand and in terms that suit all the parties involved,’ he said.
Tunde Kelani, producer of top Nigerian movies like Campus Queen, Saworeide, Dazzling Mirage, Maami, Thunderbolt and many others, revealed to NET in June this year that he had stopped releasing movies on DVD due to the activities of pirates.
