There was a time in this nation…
Indeed there was a time in this country when once those lines were sung, viewers knew that they were in for a half-hour of laughter on television. That was the opening bar of the theme song of Fuji House of Commotion, one of Nigeria’s most popular sitcoms.
Produced and directed by the late Amaka Igwe, the sitcom was based on Chief Fuji‘s family (Kunle Bamtefa), his four (official) wives (Toun Oni, Ngozi Nwosu, Sola Onayiga, Ireti Doyle) and his countless children. Each episode dealt with issues that were delivered in humorous ways.
Fuji House Of Commotion defined a generation, and years after its run ended; it’s still as hilarious as ever.
