The multi-talented entertainer in a series of Instagram posts appreciated the athletes’ output at the championship also labelling them ‘Sweet Girls’ after they booked passage to the tournament’s quarter-final where they are billed to face defending champions USA.

The D’Tigress’ feat at the World Cup in Spain has been nothing but a fairytale as they became the first African team to win three games in a single Women’s World Cup campaign and also crowing it by becoming the first African team to progress to the quarter-finals after beating Greece 57 – 56 in a nervy quarter-final qualification match on Wednesday.

With the team billed to face favourites, red hot and defending champions the USA on Friday, most pundits believe this is the end of the road for the spirited Africans.

Aside from being the defending champions, the US national team has been ruthless so far winning all their group matches, (USA 87 – 67 Senegal, China 88 – 100 USA and USA 102 – 76 Latvia) also having an extra day of rest over the D’Tigress.

Beating team USA will surely be a difficult one to call but the girls are ready to play their hearts out one more time.
