South Africa’s constitutional court has decriminalized the use of cambiums in the country.
Justice Raymond Zonto, the deputy chief said the law banning the use of marijuana was unconstitutional. The judgement now makes it legal for adults to smoke cannabis at home and also allows its cultivation for personal consumption.
Last week, the private use of marijuana was decriminalized by the Western Cape High Court. However, some government and health institutions have challenged the ruling, arguing that cannabis is more harmful than tobacco and alcohol.
