Former Princess of Wales, Princess Diana is set to be honoured with a statue in Kensington Palace.
The statue will be placed in the public gardens of the palace after definite decisions on the details of its design and the sculptor are made.
And her sons, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and Prince Harry feel this gesture is long overdue in order to commemorate the legacy of their mother in history.
The Princes have brought together a private committee to help raise funds to sponsor the sculpting of the statue.
They said, ‘It has been twenty years since our mother’s death and the time is right to recognise her positive impact in the UK and around the world with a permanent statue.’
‘Our mother touched so many lives. We hope the statue will help all those who visit Kensington Palace to reflect on her life and her legacy,’ they added.
The statue is scheduled to be unveiled later in 2017.
